The UM system signed a contract with Airgas, Inc to supply the university with specialty gases, safety products, equipment and services Friday. This $1 million deal will be incorporated into all the university’s campuses, in Columbia, Kansas City, St. Louis, and the Missouri University of Science & Technology in Rolla.
"We are pleased to be partnering with the University of Missouri to help optimize their overall purchasing process and track spending through more effective supply chain management," Todd Morris, Airgas director for laboratory markets, said in a news release Friday.
Ties between the UM system and E&I Cooperative Purchasing allowed for an efficient agreement with Airgas, according to the statement. Both parties have an affiliation with the company.
Airgas provides supplies like welding equipment and is the U.S.’s largest provider of dry ice.
"Airgas' unique e-procurement capabilities will provide a seamless integration with our systems, enabling the university to operate at optimum efficiency and maximize budgets," said David Silvey, UM System senior strategic sourcing specialist in the news release.
