Two area companies that serve some of Chicago's biggest packaged-goods manufacturers have been sold.
Management consulting firm Griffin Strategic Advisors LLC today said it has been acquired by food broker Acosta Inc. Earlier this week, in-store display company Strive Group was acquired by Menasha Packaging Co.
Griffin, based in Lake Forest, will combine with Acosta's Lombard-based insight and marketing group to create AMG Strategic Advisors.
Carrie Shea, Griffin co-founder and CEO, will become president of the new unit. "Now we'll be providing the full suite of strategy offerings to complement (Acosta's) other services," she said.
Seven of Griffin's 10 consultants will move to the new company. Acosta, based in Jacksonville, Fla., will maintain a second advisory that continues the Griffin name for clients in other industries such as education and health care.
