The Middle East remains a very strong market for Mercedes-Benz, and the company has recently just celebrated the 10th anniversary of its Regional Logistics Center, which takes care of the shipment of parts and accessories as well as after-sales service. Along with the celebrations come an announcement for bigger and better things in the region, as the company announced its expansion plans for 2011—which starts with the RLC’s first shipment to Syria.

With that shipment, the Middle East RLC now serves 26 locations between 9 countries. The network includes the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Yemen, Qatar and even Afghanistan. The RLC’s 2011 plans will involve logistic service expansion to Jordan, Iraq and Lebanon via the Dubai headquarters.

Thomas Mlynek, Daimler AG director for global service and parts, logistics supply chain and processes, cited the RLC’s consistency in providing a high level of expertise and professionalism over the past decade. “Ensuring customers immediately receive whichever part they require from our stock of over half-million parts by land, sea, air and courier, the RLC’s performance has significantly contributed to the positive image Mercedes-Benz enjoys across the Middle East, and will continue to do so as we initiate our regional expansion plans this year.”
